Rangeley was designated an official Appalachian Trail Community in 2012. Nestled amidst 4,000 foot mountain peaks, big lakes, ponds, rivers and streams, Rangeley is one of the premier trail towns in the USA with hundreds of miles of trails for hiking, mountain biking, downhill and nordic skiing, ATV-ing, snowmobiling and even paddling.  

Along with the 2,200 mile AT, the 740 mile Northern Forest Canoe Trail comes through this beautiful area as well.  The mountains and lakes offer so many opportunities for outdoor recreation on foot and on water.
